Peopleware

Filed under: Things i am reading

In the future role that i am taking up, i would have to deal with a lot of really smart engineers. I have dealt with a lot of smart engineers in the past, but it has been some time since i last coded and  besides that, i have slightly dumbed down after an MBA, :-) .

I have been a software engineer myself and can empathize with a few of the issues that engineers have. Most of the times , engineers are reasonable, data driven folks and having data helps in convincing these nerds.

Currently reading Peopleware. Hope to get a few good ideas on what it takes to align a few high energy, randomly moving electrons along a single direction. This ability to influence and command respect of this set of electrons decides if i do well in the new job or not.
